About the Kids' Conference
The Kids' Conference brings together primary and secondary students to share innovative projects they have designed and developed. Our slogan 'kids teaching teachers' aims to highlight that we are all co-learners and students have a great contribution to make to further our knowledge.
We work to promote students as researchers and creators of knowledge and innovation to an audience of their peers, lead educators, policy makers and the teaching community the role of teachers as facilitators of creative, collaborative and student-led projects. New student-led learning approaches to enquiry, exploring new and emerging technologies and novel presentation tools.
Our logo was inspired by the work of the team of the "RV Investigator", CSIRO's multimillion dollar Research Vessel.
In her recent explorations of Australia's oceans the Investigator has uncovered volcanoes off Sydney, learned more about how the oceans influence our climate and found new species of sea life.
The logo is based on an earlier deep sea find of the Angler Fish. With her hungry open mouth and light bulb overhead she looks like she's always hungry for new ideas. We see students as similarly keen to explore new depths and uncover the unexpected in what they do.
